WELCOME TO COHOUSING ABQ

We know it takes a village, so we're creating one.

Imagine living on the edge of a cottonwood forest bordering the beautiful Rio Grande, where porcupines nestle in treetops along the river, and sandhill cranes make long, dramatic landings.

Imagine living in a community that's built on shared values with an established culture of trust, care and fun, where kids can roam free with their friends and adults get to connect more deeply and have fun together, too.

Imagine doing all this in Albuquerque, NM, a perfectly small city with culture, history and great access to breathtaking nature—living more sustainably and joyfully, together.

This is Cohousing ABQ. We hope you will join us!

Sabemos el valor de un pueblo donde los vecinos confían entre sí. Por eso la estamos creando.

¡Esperamos que se una a nosotros! Para mas información en español, mandanos un mensaje aquí: neighbor@cohousingabq.org

Live Sustainably in the Land of Enchantment

We anticipate breaking ground in 2024 on 25 beautiful, energy-efficient homes clustered around a shared open space. Our plans include a fully equipped common house and a range of community amenities—gardens, an orchard, children’s play areas and more. Currently we are working with a well-known local developer to do a final design of our units using a contemporary Northern New Mexican design. Unit sizes will range from 1 bedroom to 4 bedrooms, with prices ranging from $299,500 to $634,500.

Our community includes families with children, multigenerational families, couples and singles from across the country and around the world. We have supported one another throughout the pandemic and before, creating a culture of trust, fun and care even before construction is complete. We're looking for a few more families to join us!

There’s something pulling us together: A belief in a way that is more connected — to each other and to the land — and a willingness to work for it."

Our Community Plans

Our land is on a quiet road with lots of families and kids, right next to the Rio Grande and Bosque trails. The neighborhood’s agricultural roots give it a rural feel, but the center of town is just a 3-minute drive away.
